Who Am I? The Person Behind True Prizes

Hi, I'm Joe

If you've entered a competition on True Prizes, watched one of our live draws, or followed us on social media, you've probably seen my face already.

But I thought it was about time I properly introduced myself and shared the story behind the business.

My name is Joe, and I'm the owner of True Prizes.

I live in Cornwall with my wife Samantha, our two children Liam and Chloe, and our two dogs Rita and Rose. Like many families, we juggle work, Home schooling, family time, bills, holidays and everything else that comes with everyday life.

True Prizes wasn't created by a large company or backed by investors with deep pockets. It started as an idea that grew into something bigger through hard work, long evenings and plenty of learning along the way.

Why I Started True Prizes

I've always enjoyed business and finding ways to create opportunities for myself and my family.

Over the years I've worked in different industries, but I wanted to create something that people could genuinely enjoy while also giving them the chance to win prizes they might not otherwise be able to afford.

That's where True Prizes came from.

The goal was simple.

Create a competition website that is fair, transparent and enjoyable to be part of, and most of all to give back to other.

I wanted to build a business where customers could see exactly who was running it, where the prizes came from, how the draws worked and who the winners were.

A Family Business

Although I'm the person you see most often, True Prizes is very much a family business.

Samantha supports the business behind the scenes, helps with ideas, keeps me grounded and is often the first person to tell me if something isn't working.

Liam and Chloe love seeing the prizes arrive and helping with some of the family-friendly content we create.

Even our dogs Rita and Rose occasionally make appearances when we're filming at home.

Being family-run means we understand the value of every pound spent.

When someone enters one of our competitions, we never forget that they have chosen to spend their hard-earned money with us.

That's something we take seriously.

How True Prizes Works

One thing I believe strongly in is transparency.

There are lots of competition websites online, and as a customer it can sometimes be difficult to understand exactly how everything works.

At True Prizes, we aim to keep things simple.

Every competition clearly shows:

• The prize available

• The ticket price

• The number of entries

• The competition closing date

• The draw process

• Any instant win prizes available

When draws take place, they are carried out live so everyone can see the result for themselves.

We also publish our winners and regularly share photos, videos and updates where possible.

The Challenges of Running a Competition Business

Running a competition website isn't as easy as many people think.

There is far more involved than simply putting a prize online.

Behind every competition there are website costs, payment processing fees, marketing expenses, customer support, compliance requirements, prize sourcing, content creation and countless hours of work.

Some days are fantastic.

Other days are challenging.

Like any business owner, I've made mistakes, learned lessons and had to adapt along the way.

That's one of the reasons I wanted to start this blog.

I want to share the real side of running a competition business, not just the highlights.

Why Transparency Matters

Trust is everything.

Without trust, a competition business simply doesn't work.

That's why I believe it's important for people to know who is behind the company they're supporting.

I'm not hiding behind a logo or a faceless brand.

I'm a husband, a dad, a business owner and someone who genuinely wants to build something that people enjoy being part of.
