Why There Are So Many Competition Websites Today

If you've been entering online competitions for a while, you've probably noticed something.

There are a lot more competition websites today than there were just a few years ago.

Every week, it seems like another one appears.

Some people have asked me whether that worries me.

The honest answer?

Not really.

Competition Is Part Of Business

No matter what industry you're in, competition is inevitable.

Open a coffee shop and there will be another one down the road.

Start a garage and there will already be several nearby.

Launch a competition website and you won't be the only one.

That's just business.

In fact, I'd argue that competition is healthy.

It encourages businesses to improve.

It pushes people to think differently.

And most importantly, it gives customers more choice.

Every Company Has Its Own Personality

One thing I've learned is that no two competition companies are exactly the same.

Some focus on luxury cars.

Some focus on large cash prizes.

Some specialise in gadgets.

Others offer holidays or everyday items.

Every business has its own way of doing things.

At True Prizes, we've always wanted our personality to be one of our biggest strengths.

We're a family-run business.

We like showing the people behind the company.

We enjoy sharing our journey, not just our successes.

For us, building relationships is just as important as running competitions.

We Don't Try To Be The Biggest

People often assume every business wants to be the biggest in its industry.

Of course, we'd love True Prizes to continue growing.

But our goal has never been to become the biggest competition company in the country.

Our goal is to become one of the most trusted.

If people think of True Prizes as honest, transparent and enjoyable to be part of, then we're heading in the right direction.

Customers Decide

One thing I've always believed is that customers make the final decision.

People support businesses that give them a good experience.

Businesses that communicate well.

Businesses that keep their promises.

Businesses that treat people properly.

That's true whether you're running a competition website, a local café or a national retailer.

The customer always has the choice.

There's Room For Everyone

Some people see more competition as a problem.

I see it as a sign that the industry is growing.

More people are discovering online competitions.

More people are enjoying the excitement of taking part.

More winners are being created every day.

That's good for the industry as a whole.

Our job isn't to worry about what everyone else is doing.

Our job is to make True Prizes the best version of itself.

What We Focus On

Instead of spending our time watching other businesses, we spend our time asking ourselves questions.

Can we improve our website?

Can we communicate better?

Can we create more exciting competitions?

Can we make entering easier?

Can we improve our customer service?

Those are the things we can control.

And those are the things that really matter.

The Lesson

Today's lesson is simple.

Don't be afraid of competition.

Be afraid of standing still.

There will always be someone else doing something similar.

Whether you're running a business, starting a new career or learning a new skill, comparing yourself to everyone else can become a distraction.

The businesses that succeed aren't always the biggest.

They're the ones that keep improving.

One step at a time.

One customer at a time.

One lesson at a time.

Looking Ahead

The competition industry will continue to grow.

New businesses will launch.

Others will close.

Ideas will change.

Technology will evolve.

At True Prizes, we'll continue focusing on what got us here in the first place.

Being open.

Being honest.

Treating people well.

Creating exciting competitions.

And remembering that behind every ticket is a real person who has chosen to support our business.

For that, we're incredibly grateful.
