Why Small Prize Winners Matter Just As Much As Big Winners

Why A Small Prize Gives Me The Same Buzz As A Big Prize

One thing people often assume about running a competition business is that the biggest prizes create the biggest excitement.

The £1,000 cash prizes.

The Car.

And don't get me wrong, those are exciting.

But here's something that might surprise you.

I genuinely get the same buzz from telling someone they've won a smaller prize.

It's Never Really About The Prize Value

When I call a winner or send a message telling them they've won, my excitement isn't based on how much the prize is worth.

It's based on their reaction.

Whether somebody wins £1,000, £100, a supermarket voucher or a smaller prize, the feeling is often exactly the same.

It's that moment of surprise.

That moment where they realise they've actually won.

That moment where their ordinary day suddenly becomes a little better.

That's the part I enjoy.

Some Of The Best Reactions Come From Smaller Prizes

Over time, I've learned something interesting.

Some of the biggest smiles don't come from the biggest prizes.

Sometimes a smaller prize arrives at exactly the right moment.

It might help someone with their shopping.

It might pay for a family meal out.

It might cover a bill.

It might simply brighten their week.

You never really know what impact a prize can have on somebody else's life.

Every Winner Matters

One thing we've always tried to do at True Prizes is treat every winner the same.

Whether you've won a large cash prize or a smaller instant win, you're still a winner.

You're still part of the story.

You're still somebody who took a chance and had some luck come your way.

Every winner announcement is special because every winner is a real person.

Why We Run Smaller Competitions

People often ask why we run smaller competitions alongside some of the larger ones.

The answer is simple.

We enjoy creating winners.

The more opportunities we can create for people to win, the better.

Of course, everybody loves seeing a big prize.

But there is something equally enjoyable about seeing lots of people experience that winning feeling.

The Moment That Makes It Worthwhile

Running a business comes with challenges.

There are long days.

There are stressful moments.

There are problems to solve.

But then you tell someone they've won.

And for a few moments, none of that matters.

You hear the excitement in their voice.

You see their reaction.

You know you've made their day a little better.

That's the moment that reminds me why we started True Prizes in the first place.

The Lesson

The lesson from today's blog is simple.

Never underestimate the impact of a small win.

In life, we're often focused on the big achievements.

The big goals.

The big milestones.

But sometimes it's the smaller victories that keep us motivated.

The small wins build confidence.

The small wins create momentum.

The small wins remind us that progress is happening.

Whether it's winning a competition, reaching a personal goal or simply having a good day after a difficult week, those moments matter more than we often realise.

Looking Ahead

We'll continue running big competitions.

We'll continue creating exciting prizes.

But we'll also continue creating opportunities for smaller wins.

Because from where I'm sitting, the smile on a winner's face is worth celebrating regardless of the size of the prize.

And I can honestly say that the feeling of creating a winner never gets old.
